degree by a sixteen year old youth who participated in a
gang-style slaying. After waiver of jurisdiction by the juvenile
court, the defendant was tried in the district court, and upon
conviction was sentenced to life imprisonment in the State
Industrial Reformatory at Hutchinson, Kansas. The specifications of error primarily involve the admission
into evidence of a recorded statement made by the defendant prior
to trial and the giving of instructions.
